Our Method
Our program was developed through a grant-funded initiative & includes three key components to impact the STEM opportunity gap:
- EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING
Each participant will need a littleBits Base Inventor Kit encouraging youth to learn through physical play, turn their ideas into inventions, and solve problems they care about.
- MENTORSHIP
Participants are encouraged to connect with STEM professionals for up to 20 hours of in-person mentorship over the course of the program. Girls who have had mentors are 2.5 times more likely to be confident in their ability to succeed in school and careers.
- EXPANDED LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES (Optional)
Each participant can subscribe to DIY.org (fee for service), for an expanded STEM course platform for youth. Youth can post projects, participate in challenges, and interact with fellow peers. Additional free resources can be found on our expanded learning opportunities page.
